New years!
Looking out toward the apex at the coming year Portland will be the main event for the Mini in me.  I’ve never been to the Portland historic race and really want to go.  Especially when it’s tied to the swap meet.  Only minor tweaking with Lillibeth just some refinements (like maybe a new high flow head)  and she’ll be right again. See you on the road again soon.

Maybe she's done?
I’m in a really strange place with the Mini,  thinking maybe she’s done.  I’m not talking about finished like I should crush her in some sick love/hate kind of way, just that maybe there’s nothing more I can do.  This car has been an organic evolution,  not an all out overhaulin overnight change.  Because of the slow organic growth I’ve learned a ton from this car,...

This year Lillibeth earned 3 awards. 1.  Best in class at VanDusen in Vancouver.  Stunning me as this is one of the most prestigious shows on the west coast.  It was raining like stink so I don’t think they noticed the rust in the doors.  2.  Best in show at the Spectre 341.  Proud of this as well because the trophy is bigger than the car,  it’s gaudy and huge and 6ft tall dwarfing...

Mike Kearney and Seven Mini parts
I had a great conversation with Mike at the NW historics this year.  I will add it to the podcast,  but I wanted to give folks a heads up and keep watch as I edit the audio.  (Much better this time)  Mike has been racing Mini’s and working on Mini’s most of his life.  I wanted to highlight the fact that even though he and Doug Peterson have been so loyal to  Mini in the US they really...

Mini meet west
Day 1 concourse day where we park and talk and visit vendors. Don at Mini Mania said mini owners were frugal and he was right I’ve not purchased the items I so desire. Kad hubs would be nice. Show price on fallen tires is amazing I may get a set cause I know they won’t get any cheaper. 99 bucks ea not bad…

Gun slinger series Virginia City Spectre 341 2011 →
Walking the old crooked planks through Virginia City made me realize we have some modern day gun slingers.   These racers are very serious,  and yes it can end gravely.

Nigel
I have the honor of being selected as caretaker for this beautiful little Mini.  Nigel is a 63 Mini Minor that was restored with a 1390 A series S motor,  front disks,  and other little luxuries (like seat belts)  So often I get approached by people curious and smiling,  most of the time it’s innocent, but many many times they express the desire to own a classic Mini.  I usually...
