Was lucky enough to be in Victoria when the Victoria BC Mini club had a tech day!
Here are a few photos, and my interpretation.
discussion of oil leaks. My wife noticed when the Mini’s were hoisted all had that shiny sheen of motor oil underneath them. I informed her it’s just the anti corrosion aspect to owning a classic Mini, it’s an oil that’s sprayed on at the factory to prime the seals so they will weep the small amounts of oil that keep things from getting rusty. She didn’t buy it, but I did learn about classic leak points, these guys know their stuff.
Rog the hat from the UK, had great stories about BMW’s launch of the new Mini. He got me so worked up about the new Mini I’m considering buying one. Hope I can go to Mini United at Silverstone, but my chances of finding lodging is probably next to nil at this point.
Every Mini mechanic should learn to read brail.
Something so classic about the leather strap, keeps the bonnet down when over 100mph, and it’s like opening a picnic basket it makes one anticipate wine and cheese.
Any caption I come up with for this one is offensive either to Mini’s or to men so I’m just going to leave it alone.
