After attending the Deer Park car show, I let my Dad drive the Mini and got a kick out of how much he enjoyed driving it. I wasn’t even mad when he ground second gear, (it’s really tough with your left hand) It was great to see him smile and talk about his old cars. Like it or not my family is a car family, I’ve just learned to accept that. I love motorcycles, and bicycles, but I’ve grown to accept the automobile, it’s in my blood.
I”ve been dying to get ahold of Adam Carolla to discuss tools and cars because we think a lot alike. Two major tools I would love to have would be 1. a lift I know this doesn’t seem quite like a tool so much as a shop fixture, but a lift would make life so much easier four tires could be changed, suspension exhaust work could be done, oil changes would be cake. A lift is pretty much shop nirvana. Second would be a tire changing machine. Usually it costs $20 plus to mount and balance tires and I think my own machine would pay for itself over the years, and allow me to mount the combinations of rubber I want to run on my vehicles. If there were a motorcycle attachment for it that would be great because I’ve busted many a knuckle, and have another level of profanity for changing motorcycle tyres.
